The Solo Scale:
Of all the food options in Vegas — the reputable fine dinings, the quick bites, the Instagrammable options — the Hello Kitty Café falls squarely in the last of that group. If you’re going here, it’s likely for the merchandise, the photos, or for the fun of saying you went, but don’t expect that you’re going to get fantastic food.
There are a few locations in Vegas, but the one we visited was in the Park. It’s not too far off the strip, so if you’ve reached the T-Mobile Arena, you’ve gone too far. We went in mid-morning when most of Las Vegas was still asleep. That meant we didn’t have a line and barely waited. Within five minutes, we’d made it to the window to peruse the offerings. They mainly have treats, drinks, and merchandise that’s Hello Kitty + Las Vegas inspired, which does make it unique.
My friend ordered some very Las Vegas specific Hello Kitty merch that combined the infamous Las Vegas sign with Hello Kitty and was, admittedly, adorable. There’s a handful of other merchandise items that you can purchase. These range from pins to t-shirts to magnets. However, not everything is available. Some of the items you see may be sold out.
The Snacks
In terms of food, we selected the badtz-maru rice crispy to share as a snack. In terms of food quality, it’s more about the Instagram photo, honestly. Avoid the fondant. It’s plain fondant and that means it doesn’t taste good. Once you get past that, sticking the fondant to the treat is a layer of chocolate whipped cream. This was super rich (maybe a little too much). The rice krispie treat itself tasted like something you might get by making it at home. Not awful, just not unique.
We wound up getting a treat and then going to the nearby Shake Shack to top up on something to drink, though we could have also purchased that at the café.
Ready To Visit?
There are multiple locations in Las Vegas. One is at Fashion Show Las Vegas and the other in the Park (the one in this article). You can find information about the menu and the merch here. It’s a fun little diversion that won’t take long and if you like Hello Kitty, it’s definitely worth the trip!
