Sail the Seine in Paris for Stunning City Views

The Solo Scale:

So you’re going to Paris and you’ve been told that you must do a cruise on the Seine. I’m not here to argue. In fact, I think that it’s a first time rite to take a Seine cruise. It doesn’t matter which company you pick. The point is seeing Paris from the river.

The routes that most of the cruises take will bring you just past the Eiffel Tower and then beyond Notre Dame on the Île de la Cité. That means you get views of the majority of the Seine-adjacent destinations. Some of the highlights include the Conciergerie, Musee d’Orsay, and Louvre! It’ll only take an hour and is something you can do more than once on your trip. Given that the views can change depending on the day, I’d even highly recommend it.

It’s a smooth ride and even if you deal with motion sickness, you should be fine. It takes an hour to go down to the Eiffel Tower before looping back, and returning to your embarkation spot. There are also more than one option. You can pick the standard cruise option, but if you’re feeling like you want to make your cruise a little more special, there are options to dine while you cruise that inch the price up slightly, but give you a memorable experience of dining as you go.

If you really want a memorable experience that you can control, time your cruise for sunset and you’ll be treated to an unforgettable view of the city as its painted with brilliant colours before illuminating at night. Don’t forget to research the sunset time, as Paris is probably more north than you’d expect, which can impact sunset times in both the summer and the winter.

Ready to set sail? You can peruse multiple options here at the company I tend to use when visiting Paris (Vedettes du Pont Neuf). Sometimes, booking online ahead of time can even get you a deal if they’re running a sale!
