The Solo Scale:
In Disney’s California Adventure, the area dedicated to Marvel may have office park vibes (and by ‘may’, it absolutely does). That doesn’t mean that it’s without its highlights. You’ve got a great ride in Mission Breakout. Sure, I have complicated feelings about it replacing my favourite Tower of Terror, but it’s still fantastic and during the Halloween season, it’s two rides in one day. There’s a second decent one in Web Slingers. Maybe one day, we’ll even get more (as we’ve been promised). While the number of performers have been dwindling lately, there’s still plenty to see. One of the best reasons to spend a little time in Marvel’s Avengers Campus is the food. It’s pretty decent theme park fare, but the theming is a notch above at both Pym’s Tasting Lab and Test Kitchen.
The concept is simple. It’s a bunch of experiments happening involving food and drinks, with wacky results. That could mean your beer filling up from the bottom of the glass. It could mean a pretzel the size of your head. Or, it could mean your food being shrunk down. It’s a really cute concept, and the food and drinks are decent too!

Be warned: Because of the size of some of the food, you may not want to order it alone unless you’re really hungry. The pretzel is massive, and so are some of the desserts. If you bring a ziploc bag, you’ll be giving yourself more snacks for later which would be incredibly wise. Otherwise, being solo is a bit of a downside when it comes to a full completion of the menu.
Overall, the food at the Test Kitchen was a great bite. It’s especially good when you need a breakfast if you’re rope-dropping Radiator Springs Racers. I highly recommend doing as a single rider, as you’ll be on in minutes. Right after ride, this is very close for you to get breakfast. Plus, you can pre-order on your mobile to have it ready to go when you arrive!
On the other side of things, when you’re there later in the day, you’ve got plenty of unique drink options. One other perk about the Tasting Lab is the you get a built-in souvenir. The drinks at the Pym’s Tasting Lab come in really cute plastic cups. If you rinse it out, you can brew your own concoctions at home!

The proximity of the location also means a lot of other great food options. The little corner near Avengers Campus also has Radiator Springs, which means you’ve got a lot of options for quick service between Flo’s, the Cozy Cones, and then the food offerings in Avengers Campus, but Pym’s Test Kitchen & Tasting Lab are so fun in their theming.
There’s not that much seating in the area, so if it’s busy, you might be waiting a little while to find a place to sit.
