The Solo Scale:
One of Dublin’s most famous (and deservedly so, for its gorgeous architecture and sprawling greens) tourist locations is Trinity College. If you’re heading that way, I recommend using the College Green entrance, as the doors seem unimposing and fairly normal. You might even blink and miss it as an entrance. Because of its unassuming normalcy, it makes you feel as if you’ve been transported to a wholly different world. Stepping through into the grounds of Trinity College from the busy streets of Dublin is truly an unparalleled experience.
The campus itself boasts so many interesting buildings, sculptures, and greenery. You could spend hours exploring the many nooks and crannies of interesting items to discover.
The one destination within Trinity College that’s most popular is the Old Library. This is where you’ll find the Book of Kells exhibition, along with the Long Room.
The Book of Kells Exhibition is a must-see on the itinerary of all visitors to Dublin. Located in the heart of the city centre in Trinity College Dublin, the Exhibition displays the Book of Kells, a 9th century manuscript that documents the four Gospels of the life of Jesus Christ. The Book of Kells is Ireland’s greatest cultural treasure and the world’s most famous medieval manuscript.

The Exhibition also features access to the Long Room, one of the world’s most beautiful libraries, that houses 250,000 of Trinity College’s oldest books.
Check out the website above for hours and tickets prices. While it may not always happen, I was able to get a half-price admission ticket. I paid on site and got the discount because the exhibit was about to close in the next thirty minutes. That said, that’s not a guarantee that it will happen and it does add a layer of urgency to your visit, though you’ll still be able to do a (brisk) walkthrough.
If you want a little more guidance on your visit, you are able to purchase tickets for a tour of Trinity College. If you want to take it at your own pace, it’s an excellent people-watching venue and you can wander for hours!
