The Hidden “Pearl” (Morissette) for Fine Dining in Jordan, Ontario

If you live near Niagara Falls, there’s good news. You’re extremely close to a restaurant that’s just earned its second Michelin star. It’s also scored a place on La Liste’s 1000 Best Restaurants in the World. That’s Pearl Morissette, an amazing fine dining experience in Jordan. If you’re interested, here’s a few details to help you make a decision about visiting is right for you.

Like many other fine dining experience, Pearl Morissette is pre-paid. That means when you pay, it will be for both the food and wine package (if you opt into it). This price also includes your tax and gratuity. If you choose to order more drinks when you arrive (or add-ons, such as the cheese course), that cost may go up.

If you are intending to drink, be mindful that Jordan is not in a heavy tourist area. That means there isn’t a walkable hotel. You’ll need to make arrangements to get there and back, or have someone in your group abstain to ensure a safe trip home.

Lastly, on the website, you aren’t able to make reservations for parties unless they’re between 2-6, and it’s recommended that diners all be above the age of 12.

When you arrive at the restaurant, you’ll discover that the restaurant is in a building reminiscent of a barn. Once you head upstairs to the second floor, you enter a gorgeous farmhouse chic setting. We dined in the winter, which meant the seasonal menu reflected offerings that were more aligned with that season. It also meant that for our early evening seating, it was already getting dark. This ends up being a perk because you get to enjoy the restaurant in gorgeous mood lighting.

For our dinner meal, we received an eleven-course meal. That could have been twelve, but we opted out of the cheese plate. I also added the wine pairing, which featured many local wines and while they all paired nicely, nothing was truly outstanding. They did elevate the meal, so I’d recommend it if you enjoy a glass of wine with your dinner.
