The Solo Scale:
Vegas has no lack of fantastic restaurants. Truly, the real conundrum in Las Vegas is how you’re going to try as many fantastic restaurants as possible while dealing with finite resources like time, your budget, and your stomach space. So maybe the best thing to do is simply accept that no one person can do it all. Once you do that, you can start looking for experiences that fit your personal tastes. If you love Mediterranean, and specifically French food, LPM is a great option.
When you arrive at your table, you’ll find tomatoes, lemons, and olive oil. While our waitress said that they were free and we should use them in a salad, that never arrived. It was unclear as to whether that meant they were free to use if we ordered one, but it was still a neat thing to see. Jury’s still out if we got robbed of a free salad. Maybe we’ll return one day and find out. Our drinks arrived with playful touches to both. The Lettre à Coco came with a small envelope and actual letter, and the Tuesday Escape had a little postage stamp of a garden glued to the side of the glass (this one was heavy on the Calvados, so you’d better enjoy that strong apple spirit flavour!).
I ordered the steak tartare and the escargots as starters. In retrospect, I regret the escargots, mainly because I dressed up quite nicely for this and the escargot shells were extremely buttered. That meant that every time I adjusted my hold, I wound up getting greasy hands. Even with my napkin, it was a losing battle. The shell shape made extracting the meat a little difficult, and there would be times when tiny pieces of shell would chip into the meat. While there was some user error, a lot had to do with me not wanting to get too messy, but what I did enjoy was delicious. However, while I struggled with the escargots, I excelled with the delicious steak tartare. The bird’s nest on top added an amazing texture and the meat was seasoned perfectly.

Once we finished appetizers, I ordered a Chateau des Rhones wine for my main course. It paired perfectly with the fresh-made pappardelle, as good as being in Italy and going to a small little ristorante.

However, the true star of the entire meal? Something I could eat ten of, even if I felt full? The French Toast Cyrus. Do not hesitate. This is what you want to order for dessert. It’s got honeycomb, the most luxurious french toast I’ve ever had and comes with ice cream and a crispy top. It was heaven. It’s bliss. I’m still probably underselling it.
The meal on the whole was fantastic, we had lovely service, and the ambiance of the restaurant was top-notch. If you couldn’t tell (and you can), dessert was my favourite part, but every course had something to shine. I would heartily recommend LPM, as it’s a mid-range restaurant with quality drinks and dishes for your Vegas stay. You can find it inside the Cosmopolitan hotel.
