Want a wild snack? My top three best bites at Animal Kingdom

The least busy of Disney’s park, but still busier than most amusement parks is Animal Kingdom. If you’re headed there, you may have already done some research on the best Animal Kingdom snacks. You may have already heard about the cheeseburger pods from Satul’i, I’m hoping someone told you about the great barbecue at Flame Tree. And I’m sure that you’re not missing out on the street corn.

However, if you had to boil it down to the frontrunners, what are the top three best bites? In my opinion, the options below are the three that you won’t leave Animal Kingdom disappointed with. In no particular order, let’s begin.

Mr. Kamal’s Fries

Not only are Mr. Kamal’s fries better than your average snack because of the spice mix, but they’re the best kind of fry. Long, crispy without being too crunch, and hot and fresh. Better than that, you can get them with a dipping sauce on the side that’s got plenty of flavour. If that isn’t enough to sell you, it’s also a great affordable price. It’s not on the outskirts of the park and there’s some great seating in the area that give incredible views of the Tree of Life.

Good views, great food, and not too much of a hit on your wallet means that this is a best bite for sure at Animal Kingdom.

Churros at Nomad Lounge

Luckily, getting into Nomad Lounge is still fairly easy. That said, the secret is starting to get out. Plenty of people are now visiting Nomad Lounge. Luckily, there’s an outdoor patio and indoor bar seating. I will say that while the churros are incredible, I’ve noticed the quality of the dips are getting a little more sugary over the years, but that doesn’t take away from the best bite of that incredible churro, especially paired with a drink.

TRIP TIP: Did you know that you can also order Nomad Lounge items to go? If you’re craving a churro or anything else on the menu, this is a great option if there’s no seating available.

Not only are the churros delicious, but they’re also gluten-free. That means if you have someone in your party with allergy concerns, they can still indulge in the churros at Nomad Lounge.

Anandapur Ice Cream

What makes some ice cream better than others? It’s likely a combination of the mix they use, the machine, and the operations (for instance, how often they clean it), but when people say that the best soft serve in Disney comes from the Anandapur Ice Cream truck, they’re not kidding.

The ice cream doesn’t have that empty taste or a powdery after-taste. Instead, it is genuinely fantastic soft serve and cools you down on a hot day, which serves a great double purpose. I strongly recommend that if you’re looking for a reliable and tasty snack, the old classics are sometimes the winners — especially in the case of a good swirl soft serve.

There’s plenty of food options at Animal Kingdom. We’ve hardly scratched the surface, but for me, these three options are so reliable that if I’m in the park and can’t make up my mind, these are the three I know I’m heading toward.

There’s only one way to determine if you have your own best bites — head to Animal Kingdom and see which rise to the top of your list!
