While it’s no secret that when you’re by the bay, it can get chilly, that doesn’t mean that there won’t be times when you’re in San Francisco and you want something to end off the night — a little treat to wrap up whatever meal you had (whether that’s a fine dining, or a quick bite near the pier).
You could eat at the restaurant, or, you could head to a Baked Bear location, on 2824 Jones Street and mix and match your way into a personalized treat. Baked Bear is a chain, but the location by Fisherman’s Wharf is conveniently located and has plenty of options despite the small venue.
Once you’re ready, it’s time for you to build (and they provide the instructions!) You’ll get to choose between a variety of cookies, then ice cream flavours, followed by a topping. Not only is it fun to make your ice cream sandwich personal to you, but every option I tried was just as good as the last, meaning that there’s really not anything that will disappoint.
Don’t forget to grab plenty of napkins. It’s a substantial serving (that can easily serve two) and can get messy! That said, it’s a satisfying treat that won’t break the bank, and will leave room for other souvenirs or treats to try when you’re in San Francisco. If you’re headed down around dessert, make sure to be somewhat patient as the location is also available on delivery apps, so you may be the only person there, but end up watching other orders get made.
If you love ice cream, cookies, and the fun of combining them into something uniquely yours? You’ll definitely appreciate Baked Bear as a Fisherman’s Wharf food option. Check out their website here!
