Get delicious citrus treats at Sunshine Tree Terrace

The Solo Scale:

If you’re going to Magic Kingdom, then people are going to tell you that you need to try a Dole Whip. They’re mostly right. If you like pineapple, then a classic Dole Whip is your go-to. However, if you’re like me and aren’t super fond of pineapple, then there’s an even better alternative for you. Head around the corner from Aloha Isle in the direction of the Adventureland entrance/exit to the Main Street Hub and on your way you’ll find Sunshine Tree Terrace.

This is a popular location, but not as crowded as Aloha Isle. There’s a real cult built up around pineapple dole whip, but I’m not a participant. I’m one of the people who’ll preach that citrus swirls and the orange dole whip are better. Not only do I think that, but they have a mascot, which pineapple dole whip solely lacks.

Who doesn’t love Orange Bird?

If you’re also a fanatic of that Orange Bird, then don’t waste your time waiting in line. Sunshine Tree Terrace is available on the mobile order app, so you can place your order ahead of time and pick it up. They do make it on the spot, so you might want to click the ‘I’m Here’ button even if you’re a little bit away since it takes a few moments to make.

What can you order?

  • Let’s get right to it. If you’re going to Sunshine Tree Terrace, you’re going for the Dole Whip, specifically the orange variety. Right now, the option is for Orange Dole Whip. In the past, they had a Citrus Swirl that was made with orange juice, but the orange variety of Dole Whip is just as delicious. You can get it fully orange or you can do what I love and get a swirl with vanilla. Doing that is a great combo of acid and sweetness — the best of both worlds.
  • Want to go even bigger? Then you should check out the floats. The star of the float event is the “I Lava You” float, which gives you that Orange Dole Whip, Strawberry Fanta, passion fruit syrup and tops it off with popping candy. It’s a super sweet treat (literally), but one that’s delicious and definitely quenches your thirst

So if you’re heading to Sunshine Tree Terrace, what should you expect to pay? In my opinion, this is another reason why this is a great treat spot. These treats run from the ~$6-8 USD range after tax. It’s a pretty substantial portion and it’s a unique treat that’s not available everywhere, which I find is always worth paying just a tiny bit more.

Is it going to hold you if you’re super hungry? Probably not, but there’s plenty of savoury options nearby to fill you up (such as the spring roll cart!)

Ready to cool off with a delicious orange-y twist? Check out the Sunshine Tree Terrace website to find the location and latest options. Just don’t stay too long, or you might be green with orange envy.
